Light Duty - Extended Range Electric Vehicles

Extended range electric vehicles are essentially battery electric vehicles that also have on-board generators to extend the vehicle range beyond that of the batteries alone. After having the batteries recharged from the grid, an EREV will drive as a fully capable electric vehicle until its battery pack is depleted, at which point an internal combustion engine and generator will provide electrical energy necessary for driving.
