Urban Electric Vehicles

Urban electric vehicles (UEVs) are regular passenger vehicles with top speeds of about 60 mph and a per-charge range of about 50 miles. Unique benefits of UEVs include easier parking and driving characteristics. UEVs usually have two doors and a hatchback, and are designed to carry two or four passengers. The AVTA and Ford Motor Company have partnered to use 350 Th!nk city EVs in a National Demonstration Program in California, New York, Georgia, and Michigan.

Clean Commute Program studied the feasibility of using electric transportation in urban applications. The program partners are the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Ford.
